Mo Reviews
I'd rather hang myself than concede that the "MKV" is a real Supra.
Ric
It's growing on me TBH. And those pictures you put on facebook in that colour make it look wayyyyyy better. I might go look at one.

This just shows you can slap a new body and badge on anything and people will lap it up. bad for the consumer all around really as we will continue to get lazy products with badges of classics slapped on them. Mo Reviews
If I want a BMW, I'd go and buy a BMW. Simple. If people are happy to pay for a BMW with a toyota badge, then good for them, go right ahead. But don't try and force us all into believing it's a real Toyota Supra, because it simply isn't. blythmrk
I say this forum needs separate sections for all models of supra Mk1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 The audi rs site does this as well as the Celica club and both are doing well.
Style
Yeah I'd be all for it. Would be good to see the aftermarket world's input to the MKV. Good to keep an eye on them in case I fancy one down the line as well
jamesmark
It has been suggested in another thread about changes to the forum, the separate sections idea came up too.

Suprakeith
Personally I believe we need get the forum sorted and new mods, before even think of adding other makes if at all, as it’s called the Mkiv forum so deep down think should only be for mkiv supras

I don’t see the problem, Toyota teamed up with Subaru to make the GT86 and it’s one of the best handling sports car money can buy. Lots of manufacturers team up with each other to make cars, it’s nothing new. I personally like the MKV and can’t wait to see further progress with it. Frank Bullitt
The GT86 was called a spiritual successor to Toyota’s first MR2 but they didn't call it an MR2. Therein lies the rub. This car has been produced by BMW and Toyota have clearly done as little as possible to make this car any different from the hairdressers soft top BMW sell. They have done little more than slap a new, old style badge on the car and made it a hardtop. The proof can be seen with recent part failures, failing with known BMW issues. Then there is the BMW recall on seven MKV's due to bad welds on seatbelt mounts. So bad it is rumoured a repair is out of the question. The cars are supposed to be scrapped and the customers given new vehicles. Clearly Toyota reliability and high standards are a thing of the past. By all means produce the car in a joint venture. But when the linage of the MKIV and it's predecessors can be traced back to the 2000GT don't use the Supra name to sell it. Call it something different. The MKV is as much as Supra as Bruce Jenner is a woman. Edited October 21, 2019 by Frank Bullitt Spelling. (see edit history)
