stevie_b
My NA Supra has failed on "bush excessively worn nearside rear inner (upper rear)". The MOT centre unsurprisingly couldn't source a replacement part. Does anyone know what part I'd need please? Appreciate there's not much info to go on. Would it be this part (see attached) number 48790-19025 ? Or can the bushes be changed without buying a whole new arm? stevie_b
Thanks Dnk: can the bushes be changed without changing the whole suspension arm? It looks like part numbers 90201-14031 and 90201-14020
Dnk
You can replace just the two bushes or the complete arm, really depends on the condition of the ball joint if you only change the bushes Not sure if you can buy Toyota bushes, possibly only polybush
stevie_b
That's great, thank you.
stevie_b
It looks like the bushes aren't available separately, so I may get aftermarket bushes to get the MOT renewed. Is it the rear upper wishbone bush I need? https://www.strongflex.eu/en/sc300-sc400/1281-rear-upper-wishbone-bush-5902553511871.html Looking at the list of bushes available, it's a bit of a minefield: https://www.strongflex.eu/en/1097-supra-iv-93-02?orderby=reference&orderway=asc&orderway=asc

stevie_b
Hi Evinx, have you used these yourself?
evinX
Not yet. Ill need a pair when i clean up my subframe though and will get these. On my wish list. The supra shares the same rear upper arms as the GS300, Aristo and Soarer. So these will fit. Give em a bash mate. Cant complain at that price even after import fees

evinX
Id expect the balljoint and bushes to be fine. Id imagine not being oem the metal may delaminate/ get corrosion like alot of non oem suspension parts quicker. But a nice quick degrease and coat of lacquer would sort that. Id give em a go. Jellybean
The stock top rear arms have spherical bearings in them, not rubber bushes, the rubber boot is there to keep water out. No idea if it is possible the renew the spherical bearing in them or a new arm assembly is required
Jellybean
On spurious Suspension arms , the rear arms I removed from my Supra and replaced with OE , appeared to be spurious; some swarf on the castings and the upper bush retainer than houses the spherical bearing was cracked I would recommend getting OE
