ben_harmer32
So my Supra is my daily. I use it to pootle 5 miles to work and back, collect the kids from school etc. I worked it out today i'm getting about 7mpg. It's a TT auto running BPU. I know these cars aren't good on fuel, but even that seems a little mad! I have started smelling fuel in the cabin a lot more than I used to, but I can't see any leaks underneath. If I pop the bonnet it's strong towards the back of the engine (injector 6?) or am I dreaming of a leak and should be looking at something else? mellonman
When the o2 sensors go bad you use more fuel their is a thread on how to check with a meter .But if you can smell fuel under the bonnet then. What I would do is prime the engine so fuel pump is running then look for a leak . Or even give the fuel pump a feed in the diagnostic port . Think its fp - bp not 100% on the battery positive without looking please search to confirm. Then you will be able to check for leaks easily. Samurai 20V
I found after replacing the link pipes on the turbo inlet, saw the most dramatic decrease in fuel consumption. They were swollen on the inside, and restricting air flow. I get around 16mpg, albiet on 95 octane and 0.9bar boost.

Wasn't connecting on the pipe at bottom. Maybe that was the fuel smell. I had it off not long ago when running amp wire lol Still can't see any leaks I'm going to buy an o2 sensor see if that helps, thank you. - - - Updated - - - I found after replacing the link pipes on the turbo inlet, saw the most dramatic decrease in fuel consumption. ben_harmer32
Changed o2 sensor today (lost a lot of blood ) But now I can't get any reading on the multimeter. Just says 0.01 constently? If anyone reads this looking for a sensor opie oils sell them for a great price. Genuine denso ones: https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-86117-denso-direct-fit-lambda-sensor-dox-0228-oxygen-o2-genuine-oe-part.aspx This was for my TT non VVTI. I don't know if part numbers differ between models. Edited October 15, 2019 by ben_harmer32 (see edit history)
