Has anyone painted interior pieces black and if so what's the recommended method and paint? GTHi mate, I've not painted any grey plastic black yet, however the principle is the same... Preparation is key. Make sure the part you are painting is cleaned with a degreaser like isopropyl alcohol. Use a plastic primer, thin coats in a warm environment with low humidity. I assume you will use rattle can's. You can use tac cloths to remove dust from the part. Ensure the area is well ventilated. For small parts I've used cardboard to create a make shift spray booth with an old vacuum cleaner as an extractor. Build up light coats using black spay can. I would either use a matt or a satin finish rather than gloss. Lots of hints and tips on YouTube...
evinX
Painting interior plastics under use will scrape. Best bet is to retrofit a pair from a similar toyota or lexus. The designs arnt far off and may need filing to locate. But will be hidden.
Ric
or a dye might be better. I painted some interior plastics and they are chipping because of the heat the supra interior can get, ill use high temp or plastidip next
