So after the hassle i had with the R34 i could never really get on with it.

 

I decided to sell up and do the smart thing, go back to a Supra :D

 

After some searching i came across a TT Auto :)

 

It had had a recent bottom end rebuild. This was due to an incorrectly fitted torque converted and a cheap pulley in place of the harmonic damper causing the crank to move. It now has the correct part fitted.

 

It came with the following modifications:

 

- Double de-cat with restrictor ring

- Cat back exhaust system

- HKS Air filter

- Front mount intercooler

- Greddy Profec boost controller

- FCD

- Alloy radiator with twin cooling fans

- 18" Cruise alloys

- HKS lowering springs

- Full role cage with rear seats removed

- Grooved and drilled brake discs all round

 

After a test drive i immediately knew i wanted it. It's one of the smoothest Supra's i had ever driven. Few little niggles to fix but i love that as it gives me something to do!

First job was to remove the cage.

 

Loved having it in the car, but i have 2 kiddies and the car is my daily so it had to go! :(

 

Found some nice Alpine speakers hiding behind the panels. Rear seats came with the car when i bought it. Just need to find some rear plastics with no holes!

Next up i fitted clear front and side indicators.

 

Replaced the auto shift knob for a momo one and fitted a manual leather gaiter, you have to push the top silver part in to change gears. Much better than the clunky stock unit :)

 

Then a set of carbon mirror covers from china. These are actually a perfect fit, secured with double sided tape.

 

I then gave the headlights a sanding as they had gone the usual yellow. I used the turtle wax kit (£10 off amazon), lights came up nice!

That's pretty much it for now.

 

Next week i'm hoping to get it to SRD.

 

They're going to wire the fans into a proper control as currently they're on a switch on the dash i have to remember to turn on and off. Finish setting it up for BPU as boost controller isn't currently set up, then give it a quick check over for anything else it may need doing soon.

Bit of work on the car at the weekend.

 

Replaced the turbo link pipes, they had definitely seen better days! :blink:

 

Also whilst replacing vac lines, i found my turbo pressure sensor had somehow melted underneath. So got a replacement one.

 

I then fitted a carbon slam panel, this was from EPR Racing and was a shocking fit! Required modifying. I do not recommend to anyone lol

De-tango'd the rear lights.

 

Bought a spare set of clear lenses. Popped the lights in the oven for 10 minutes at a low heat (whilst the wife was out!!). Split them, removed the orange indicator lenses, back in the oven and resealed. Very easy job to do :) I then fitted chrome amber indicator bulbs to finish it off.

I've done it on all my auto's i have had.

 

I'm not a fan of the big clunky shifter!

 

Also it stops the wallies looking through the window with the generic 'Oh, it's an auto' comment :fool:

This, the stock shifter is a bit chunky for my liking too, I swapped mine out also!

Productive trip to SRD!

 

Fan controller was fitted, boost controller plumbed in.

 

Went on the dyno and was not fueling well. Turns out I had an incorrect fuel pump fitted and the fuel filter was full of gunk. So they were changed out.

 

Back on the dyno and electric fans stopped working! Turned out 1 had died but the way they are wired caused the other to stop as well.

 

After discussions and a rummage in the SRD parts bin I have now gone back to a stock fan and shroud.

 

Now running 358.38 at the wheels on 1.2bar.

 

Car was taken for one last test drive and found an issue with the thermostat as car wasn't warming up, turns out I didn't have one! So that has now been sorted as well.

 

Big thanks to Lee and the team at SRD for sorting my car. Few other bits have been identified which need sorting at some point but I am happy for now!

Back up to SRD today to collect some OEM coilpacks as my car had developed a misfire at high boost. Thanks again to Lee for sorting them out for me.

So my car was using WAY to much fuel, was getting 7mpg!!!!

 

So after speaking to SRD (think Lee's going to get sick of me lol :whoosh: ) and asking on here i narrowed it down to the O2 sensor.

 

After using the following guide kindly linked to me by a forum member (thanks again melonman :D ):

This confirmed the O2 sensor was a gonner!

 

New one was ordered (Denso DOX-0228 (Non VVTI TT))

 

The car is running a lot better now and the fuel consumption has greatly increased, happy days! :)
