Original radiator

For the first time in 9 years the Sup let me down yesterday.

The top water neck on the radiator blew out. Water and steam everywhere:(.

Now partly my fault because I realise at 21 years old the radiator is passed its best and I have an ally one Inthe garage to swap out just didn't get around to it in time:d

All of you that have original radiators might want to check your water necks.

Now off to the garage to swap the radiator out.

Oh my car is a 98 vvti tip TT in BPU spec

That's a pain buddy. I'm impressed it lasted that long.

I changed mine out as while it was all in bits, the poor thing looked quite tired. I was expected it to fail around the edging, the neck looked fairly solid. Surprised at that.

What are you replacing it with?

I replaced mine with a Koyo from Whifbitz. Not the cheapest but jesus, it's massive in comparison. I'd replace the thermostat while the rad it off. Just for piece of mind. They don't usually come with the rubber seal though so keep that in mind!

The windscreen I fitted went in lovely by the way, for a non-oem windscreen I was surprised when I fit it.

Car's since, been dropped to Whifbitz and I'm just waiting for much work to be done before I can enjoy looking through it :D
