happ3n5
Hi all, I need some info about buying the trims/seals for the windshield. Looking at the part diagrams I see two things that I might need: Number 2 (75533-14190) seems like the actual outside trim that is visible and sits between the windshield and the metalwork of the car. I definitely will be buying that. Number 1 (04562-12010) however is a bit confusing. On the EPC it says adhesive, but on photos it looks like some rubbery like stuff. And on some places it is also called a seal in the part sites, which is what makes me think I would still need to get it. So, do I need number 1 and what it is actually used for? Is it some kind of glue for the windshield or a seal? Or something that sits between the windshield and the trim? I am replacing my original windshield and already got a new one, I am just missing these small things to install it.
trevorc
this has an actual photo https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/0456212010 I think what I did was to buy the main thick rubber bit, and then left the rest to the specialist glass fitter, maybe I should have ordered this bit aswell can't quite remember now as it was a few years ago. happ3n5
Yes, that is exactly the photo I found as well and it does not really look like adhesive to me More like some kind of a seal. I may end up ordering it just for a piece of mind since it is cheap.
phobos
Number 1 is a seal that is located between the chassis and the glass. It just sits in the gap between those two and covers the adhesive. I purchased it but my glass fitter told me it was unnecessary to buy the expensive OEM seal, as he could have just used some generic stuff that uses for pretty much all replacement jobs.
