Over Boosting

recently got around to putting the 3 inch decat pipes on my system, previously had a 3 inch pipe from just after the turbo (was welded on after the front cat came off), i've got a restrictor ring in and had before but for some reason shes 'ignoring' the controller and just maxing out, i think she'll o to 1.5 bar but came off the throttle at 1.4, even when the contrllers in off which should bring the boost back down to about 0.8.

any ideas, i changed the vaccuum pipes recently and she was working fine just before the swap, can the increase from 2inch to 3 inch pipe for the 1st 3inches be such a difference.

cheers

sounds like you got small pipe off somewhere, if your running a bc then check all these pipes. remember you'll only be able to increase boost not reduce it with a bc

Check um an see that it has been fitted right. Mine did exactly the same thing. Slow dog took 1 look and told me that the pipework on mine was all f*cked up. He didn't have time to sort it out so he just plugged it back into the stock controller. That sorted it until he plugged me back into my dsbc and did it properly so it all worked fine. Its worth checking the pipework to make sure it its all plugged in OK.

have done and tho i f**ked up the pipework to begin with the controller was working bang on up till putting the fron two pipes on. this literally happened overnight. now i have a restrictor ring in and had before but now the ring has moved forward in the pipe from the back section to the end of the 1st decat pipe, would that make a difference, do i need a smaller diameter restrictor ring? i got the ring from Paul Whiffin with the exhaust and i'm pretty sure he knows what hes doin even if i dont!!!

keep on helping, cheers
