charlton
I’m hoping it is as simple as needing a fluid change, if not and I need to do something more drastic, are there any recommended brands of pumps or racks? I had the pump replaced a few years ago and if that has failed already with minimal miles I would like to ensure I get quality this time round - the garage last time said they struggled sourcing the pump which is concerning

charlton
Cheers Dunk, I’m booked in tomorrow so I’ll see how it goes. Ideally I’d like to avoid ebay, don’t really want to take the risk of fakes (‘replicas’) with Supra parts. The Amazon one ships in 1-3 months
rider
I've used these a few times, usually one of the lower price US Genuine Toyota suppliers.
charlton
Cheers rider, that link looks very cheap as I was told the pump is around £700 from Toyota! I wonder if it is missing anything Looks like the issue is a combo of a cracked pipe the pump as the pulley has play in it

rider
It shouldn't be missing anything as you can buy separate as an alternative to the pump itself a rebuild kit and also gasket kit.
charlton
Excuse the slow reply, but thanks for the responses, on closer inspection one of my pipes was cracked and the pulley is a little wobbly so I am going to replace those and see how we get on. Going to go with the Whifbitz pulley as I figure they would only stock parts they would use themselves so it must be half decent. I’m not sure how I missed it in the first place, need to improve my search skills!
Swampy442
First off, take off the res, clean it out. Theres a fine mesh gauze that gets gummed up, clean that before you think about pumps. Wobbly pulley is nothing to worry about Edited June 9, 2019 by Swampy442 (see edit history)
charlton
First off, take off the res, clean it out. Theres a fine mesh gauze that gets gummed up, clean that before you think about pumps. Wobbly pulley is nothing to worry about The pulley moves around 2mm each side but straightens up when the throttle is opened. Is this really nothing to be concerned with? I wish I had the tools/facilities to be taking the Supe apart, unfortunately I don’t so it will have to go to a garage to get it sorted and might as well get it all addressed at the same time
