geoffvalenti
I'll virtualy guarantee you its turbo seals starting to leak. Did it do it before the decat? As sometime decatting can show up weaknesses there. I'ts a bummer if you've just got the car, but maybe the excuse you need to go single
si wants supra
i did not own it before the de - cat but their is no lose in pressure on the turbos could be steam its a clean looking smoke if that makes sense

geoffvalenti
Unfortunately your looking at close to 2 grand including fitting Unless you can source some decent 2nd hand ones (there should be plenty about, with lots of people taking the single route) It's a b*st*rd of a job, so labour costs aren't going to be cheap, unless you've got a ramp and can do the job yourself. si wants supra
your SH*@ting me are you guys sure it could be that as I say it is still not very frequent it happens gonna take it to chris wilson does any one know if he does this sought of work can i not get mine recond

geoffvalenti
CW is probably the best guy to speak to, I'm sure that he does the work, give him a call, but I'm pretty sure that he'll say that you can't just put seals in the old turbos, they've got to be rebalanced once they've been apart. Unfortunately that's the reconned price. I was estimating about £1000 for turbos, the rest in labour. Have a look under the bonnet, they're not easy to get at

uk-rich
i would start by re fitting the cats/cat, this will control the turbos more and make the seals last longer
SupraJames
my tubs cost about £270 each to recon, labour on changing them is around £500, so not a cheap job. Mine have been done just awaiting the engine to be fully rebuilt and they can be bolted back on..!! woohoo, new tubs and new engine

SupraJames
Bad oil, coked the whole engine, head, sump, oilways, basically everywhere the oil goes is knackered, so engine apart, replace a load of parts, and clean the rest of it all up..!! Think its due to me not changing the oil enough, so I am paying for it now

VIL
Si I wouldnt worry about it too much. I have had my Sup for 3 years now and its has smoked form the moment I bought it (the common puff of smoke on cold start up). To give you a rough idea if the tubs or the oil seals, take it out and give it a bit of stick, get home and turn off straight away and leave it overnight. In the morning when you turn it over take a mental note of how much smoke you get. Take it out again the next day but this time let it idle and cool down for ten mins, again in the morning start it up from cold, if the puff of smoke is less than the day before it points to the tubs, if its about the same as the day before its more like oil seals. Note this is a very rough guide! Some of the tech boys may say this is wrong but this is what I have been told in the past by a reputable garage!
