millar11
Morning, I've been working on the car over the wkend and changed the radiator to a new mishimoto one. In the process of fitting a SRD auto gearbox cooler and wondered what the fan is mounted on the front of the AC rad? It's looking a bit worse for wear. Can it be removed without having any effect on anything? Ideally want to mount the SRD cooler in its place if there is room behind PAS pipe work. Thanks Millar
mwilkinson
Yes it's an AC fan. It's often removed when installing FMICs and people don't appear to suffered much from removing them. It's probably because we generally don't get very hot weather here. On my last car I replaced the original with an aftermarket slim line Kenlow unit. Think I will get rid and see how it goes. Cheers
Mk4Gaz
I ditched mine when I stripped the air con out a few years ago, whilst fitting a fmic. But when I decided to reinstate the ac last year, I fitted a slim spal type fan in favour of the rusty oem one. I noticed no ill effects not having it, but if you still want to retain ac, you need it
