rg500
Does anyone know where the map sensor is located on a jspec na auto mkiv supra as I have a code 31 on my car and isn’t running properly, I have recently had the engine out to do a na t conversion and wondered if it was something that had been missed or a vacuum hose put on wrong, the car was running very well before the conversion , it is especially bad when warm. It is running rich. Edited April 20, 2019 by rg500 (see edit history)
Style
NA's use a MAP sensor mate. It's on the intake, up near the firewall
rg500
Is it at the front of the intake next to the tps or is it at the back.
Style
The sensor itself sits on the firewall and there's a short length of vacuum hose that runs to the intake manifold. Can see it circled here

rg500
Ok since I have done the na t conversion I have been getting the engine light on which is showing code 31 which is the map sensor prior to the conversion the car was running sweet is there any chance that when the engine was put back in that the vacuum pipes got put on the wrong way i didn’t do this myself I had a professional mechanic do it of which I have trusted for over 20years, the car starts on the button but when warm it doesn’t like it at all it runs rich and after a while it cuts out and won’t idle, I am going to try another map sensor on it to see if that is the problem other than that I am stumped. Has anyone had this problem with there na t build. I have found old posts and have tried contacting them but nothing as yet maybe they aren’t on here anymore??? The only thing I have changed in the conversion is th fuel pump walbro 255lph ,it still has stock injectors. I have also checked the voltage going to the plug from the ecu which supplies the map sensor and it’s a good 4.5 volts . Swampy442
What ECU are you running?
rg500
I haven’t got an ecu plugged in at the moment just stock ecu, but will be putting an emanage ultimate with 3 bar map sensor which I bought from a guy on here. Just waiting for my bank balance to build up again before I try to find someone to fit it. Swampy442
Thats why I'm guessing. Get it mapped first, dont even begin to worry about running or driving it until that point. Although eManage stuff is very old hat by todays standards its still capable and you can map a lot of stuff in or out. Thats my advice

rg500
Sorted the problem it was a faulty map sensor replaced with a replacement from keron now runs sweet, having emanage fitted tomorrow, then mapped next week.
