I don't think I would bother with the water pump, failures are very rare and there was talk replacement new ones are often plastic impellers not metal. Cam belt tensioner and pulley wheel might as well do in one hit I agree.
Eddie-S
I bought a kit from Import Car Parts the other week. All belts, pulleys and water pump. Get your crank pulley checked at the same time as mine has cracks in it and had to get one and have another trip back to the garage!
mellonman
Would this fit 2jzge as well? sort of the water pump different but that's all I believe
fastphil666
I actually bought that exact kit, water pump impeller is steel on it too. If i do it all i have peace of mind its good for years. May still be on original pump. Cars done circa 40k miles.
fastphil666
Just a word to anyone after this kit, they actually sent me the wrong cambelt, 137 teeth instead of the 143 that i needed.
Chris Wilson
The Ebay market for water pumps is a minefield, most GTE pumps are really the different GE pump, or pumps for a Lexus with a different fan pulley flange...I can do the proper Blue Print pumps at a good price that ARE correct for a GTE, but they are dearer than most of the unknown brand things. bignum
I always use the blueprint pumps Chris, been fine so far.
fastphil666
The ebay kit i purchased is an aisin pump, looked the same as the toyota one i removed only the toyota one had a plastic inpeller. The ebay kit had a metal impeller and the same part number stamped on it.
