Noz
Currently using a random eBay one. Having to extend the line so want to get a brand name. Amy recommendations please?
Style
I've got a Mocal one and it's been faultless. Good sturdy bit of kit as well
Noz
How big did you use mate?
Style
19 Row mate with -10 lines. Basically the same as this one http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/garage-whifbitz-1018.html
mwilkinson
I've got an SRD kit on my car and that's running approx 600bhp. Worth speaking with Lee about pricing as it's not on their website. Frank Bullitt
SRD coolers look identical to Derale coolers.
Noz
Both makes of coolers do look top notch. Are coolers with fans overkill? I've not seem anyone say, ie, you need a fan on your cooler for 1khp or whatever.
Frank Bullitt
I went with a 15 row Setrab oil cooler (405mm) with a Mocal inline oil thermostat with -10 lines. The car is BPU. If going single I would just add another identical cooler. I don't think fans are needed unless your are on a track. E2A Engine or gearbox cooler? mwilkinson
If just additional engine cooling you shouldn't need a fan. Especially for daily driving. As per above, I've got a Mocal inline thermostat which regulates the use of the additional cooling system. Noz
It's for engine cooling. No track use. Just 600hp NA-t low compression (TT headgasket)
mwilkinson
Have you been experiencing excessive heat? I had mine fitted after a long drive on a very hot day saw temps creep up. Given how rare that is I thought the thermostatic valve was a must to prevent excessive cooling.
Noz
It's always been advised to have an oil cooler when adding a turbo. I've had a cheap one but not experienced 600hp running so while I'm relocating it I thought I might as well upgrade it.
Noz
I've gone with a Setrab cooler. To give me some room for movement AND because it's going behind my intercooler, I've gone for 25 row 235mm. You can also get a fan for that size. I mean, it looks awesome, but it costs a small fortune and probably overkill if I'm able to locate it in a free-flowing air path. The fan though, so look cool! I've never noticed, but a lot of places advise to use rubber mounts. Is that to reduce chances of leaks on the coolers? With flexible hosing, I'm just curious why people advise that. I've ordered 4x rubber mounts, just as good practice.
