evinX
Hi all, is there any nice tools out there to help with fitting the Front crankshaft seal properly? or what size socket should i use? any tips...do's and dont's? cheers
jim_supra
I ended up getting one from Whifbitz, though when using it I accidentally tapped the seal in a little too far a one side (seal needs to sit fully flush against the oil pump body as can block the small oil bypass hole in the pump body) the Whifbitz tool is slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the crank seal and so allows room for error when knocking it in! After that, got another new seal to put it and had the tool adapted (local engineering place) to have a steel lip welded around the bottom of the tool that was the same diameter as the oil pump casing, so that when I was hammering the new seal in I couldn't go any further than flush with the casing.
