Noz
For a well respected and established auto services provider. I'm just shocked how much I've been quoted for some ecu wiring and auto work. I mean I'm sure it would be totally worth it. But I'm just asking for a general idea. I've not had decent auto work engine wise done for a while. tommyarmstrong
Most top end guys charge what they want the way the see it , they have spent years mastering there trade so that they can do it in a few hours , it's not the hours your being charged for it's the experience

Noz
Yeah totally understand you're paying per job rather than an actual hourly rate. Was estimated a few days. So not talking an hour or two. I suppose my only concern is things can get out of hand real quick if there's an issue. I'm just curious really. It's always hard to estimate most jobs I know that. But interesting to see the different prices. I'm sure it would be fine. I'm just asking before I dive in.
Mk4Gaz
Depends on the business type, and setup. As a sole trader, I charge £25ph in the building industry for labour only, and aim to make the same when doing the custom fibreglass/carbon fibre stuff on the side. I have a small workshop that doesn't cost me very much for the latter stuff, but I also use it to store my building tools so I tend not to think of it as an overhead per se If I was running a business with staff, premises, rates, bills, vat, etc etc then it could quite easily double.
