Nathanj1142
Hey, Recently been looking to buy a n/a 5spd, and some of you may seen the white and black supra for sale by Nash. Now I've heard mixed feedback on him on here, some say they'd never touch a car from him, others say he's pretty sound and sells as seen. Now, the car i went to view was the black one - reg N156DRW. As you can see from the MOT history, it went back a few hundred miles in a year, and wasn't moving at all for the past 8 years. This obviously rings alarm bells, alongside slight corrosion listed in the advisories. I read through all the paper work he had, and the mileage and story seems to add up, however he admitted he didn't know what happened where it went back 300 odd miles. I've never driven one previous to this, however the car was beautiful, engine ran like butter, clutch was light, steering was light, no knocking. Found the guy that re-welded the sills on Facebook, said the car was fine and was sat garaged again. Exterior isn't the same story, had a poor respray and some chips here and there. On to my main point anyways, i'm not looking for something immaculate, my budget is only about 10 grand and i'm not expecting a perfect car. I want something i can work on and call it mine, i just want a solid chassis and engine. I have plans to na-t in the future, and this car already has a stage 2 clutch fitted (confirmed by the guy who welded the sills whom also fitted the clutch). Is Nash really that bad? Why is everyone so sour towards him? Is there anyone i can talk to who has bought a car from him? Cheers! Nathan.
rider
With all old cars, mileage is just a number unless its backed by every MOT certificate showing sensible mileage increases and a stamped service history (admittedly this is something that is rare in Supra World) and with this particular car it look rather like its had a broken gauge forever. You say the mileage adds up somehow but how did it get to the MOT station each year, on a trailer? With this kind of black hole you can only buy on condition and I'd value assuming it is a 150k+ mile car with bad paint. That'd fall way within your £10k budget. Some background reading for you. Frank Bullitt
Don't be so desperate to give that shyster your money, there will be better cars out there for 10K you just need to wait. Best advice I can give you regarding Restless Ku(nt)stoms and Nash Meister is to avoid him like you would a whore with Syphilis! No one on here (current members) would touch him with a barge pole, pedro7256 was caught out badly with a purchase which tainted ownership of the marque for him so he moved on. Don't let the same happen to you. rider
Looking at the eBay ad, its strange that such a low mileage and low powered car has had the OE rubber sub frame bushes replaced with solid bushes. Why would anyone think that's a good idea? Best check if the engine and gearbox mounts are solid too.
navtrd
One of his car on ebay for about 7 m.o.t's the mileage remained the same with not even a single number changing.

I have the money, and the car seemed solid, but i walked away without sticking a deposit down so not tied in or anything. I just wanted some opinions before i pull the trigger so to speak. We went for a test drive, can confirm the ODO did move and was on about 77896km. I mean unless they've had another odo that theyve switched out every time it's had an MOT? I wouldn’t touch any of those cars
evinX
Your money. Your call. Do what you want? Re welded sills though. Id like to know whats going on inside there.
squiffy
From what I've seen of his buy and sell, he'll buy a whole car, sell off the good bits, then put old crap bits back on in their place to sell on as a whole car again Edited February 16, 2019 by squiffy (see edit history)

Like I say in the post, wanted a solid car I’ve just heard mix reviews on him. Think my minds been made after reading some of the posts... rather just wait and see what pops up. blythmrk
I always say no matter who the seller is you make your own mind up on the car if it’s a good car why not buy it? You walked away due to a dodgy repaint which at the asking price you did the right thing.
mike33
I went up there once to look at a supra and it was shocking what was missing! No history and the bonnet wasn't sitting flush with the front bumper same was the rear! I just walked away!!
Dnk
Just the way adverts are written makes me cringe and i personally would rather look else where but as said you still need to be on your toes, even with supposed club members you need to be careful as others in the past have shown
SupraLEDrears
I can't fault Nash. There are countless times I was stuck and he helped me out with parts for next to nothing. Just my 2p
Eldon02
I bought it off Nash in the end, it wasn’t in the best condition as I pulled it apart when I jacked it up showed him bits of rust that needed fixing. Front rear Cross member needed replacing and a few more rusted part but nothing I couldn’t get fixed by my local welder who is the dogs balls at tidy welding
