Clutch or flywheel causing issue

Hi,

I am not sure whether it is the clutch or flywheel that is causing my problems.

I have a rattle when pulling away at low speeds, when slowing down at lower speeds with engine breaking and it is also evident when I turn the car off where I get a clatter. Now in higher gears (5 and 6) under full load I get slipping and rev spiking. The ratting is definitely the flywheel and I also read that it can cause slipping when it is dying. But obviously slipping at higher gears under load is also the start of the clutch dying.

Is there anyway to work out which one it is or is it as I fear both ?

Don't know what clutch you have in there mate but my friend's supra was making a weird clattering sound as well. He decided to open it up as he thought the clutch was going as well and found it coming apart. If you get her on ramps or all 4 wheels on jack stands, you can check it out for yourself through the inspection holes on the v160 box and see from there whilst it is in gear and moving with the rear up on stands

I had similar issues after 80K on my twin Carbonetic , Flywheel was worn and Clutch Plates down to the rivets ; it just got progressively worse , high gear , wot, clutch slipping and Revs shooting up

Time for a new clutch and or flywheel; I would recommend OsGiken ; depending on power level , Street master I have is rated to 575ft lib's ; like OE ; comes with new Flywheel too
