Celicasaur
Hi guys, I'm the guy that bought that clean TT6 which was on eBay for about a week or so in October. It was a long and often thankless task looking for what I wanted (a black car being non-negotiable), but I'm glad that I didn't crack under the pressure and just buy an R34 GTR instead. Here are some pics from the eBay listing that I bought it from: (apologies for the huge images, i'm not sure how to reduce the size ) It's a genuine factory TT6. I validated this with the Toyota dealer in the UK that has access to the international database. The car initially felt a bit quicker than what I'd expect it to be in stock form, so I thought it had a decat alongside the cat-back exhaust that came with it, but other than that, it seems stock and very clean. I love how it handles (HKS coilovers too) and it was a true testament to the previous owner. If he's on here, I'd love to meet up with him for a drink  It's a very crisp example and I am loving it so far overall, but not so keen on the turbo lag...but I guess that's the cost of owning a car like this. As an FYI, my (relevant) car history is heavily NA orientated. I currently own (but it will be parted out from this weekend and sold soon after) a cammed E63 AMG (600hp NA), an E39 M5 (probably the best saloon ever IMO) and the love of my life is my 2001 Celica which is the world record holder with an NA 2ZZ-GE engine (2.0l stroker, 9000rpm, 250whp, 15:1 CR). I wonder if any of you are here from newcelica.org and recognise my username. I also had an E55K AMG which I keep forgetting about. Anyway, with that aside, I'm hoping to be here for a little while and live the dream with this car. I'll try not to be noob-ish at all but if I stumble, please be nice, haha. As a general background, I'm quite adept at working with my cars - happy to build motors, full restorations, welding, painting, ECU tuning, so hopefully with a bit of guidance I'll be a useful member of the community. However this is my first turbo car, so I'll need to fully understand a lot of basics and pitfalls before I do much with the car. My overall goal for the car is to build something that can trap around 127-130mph....I'm going to try and get close to that so any advice would be appreciated as and when. In the time that I've owned it, the first thing I did was get a nice modern double-din jobbie to freshen up the interior...no point in sharing pics, as I'm sure nobody will care much for that. Other than that, my first mod was a set of staggered CE28N wheels. Always liked those wheels, but for some reason, I feel as though the stock wheels suit the car the most...I might well refurb them and revert back to them in the Summer. The car came with some mint UK spec glass headlights, but I'm not a fan of how they look, so I promptly had those on eBay and once they'd sold, I bought a brand new pair of facelift lights from Whifbitz...and a useless HKS panel filter as an impulse buy And some before/after pics of the headlights: I'll be sure to make a build thread in due course and probably ask many questions along the way too Edited January 14, 2019 by Celicasaur (see edit history)
Fitz
Hey buddy. Nice looking Supra Where abouts in West London are you from? There are a few of us over this way.
214supra
A very clean car indeed and the previous owner is definitely on here lol. I have a SARD ECU for this car if you are thinking BPU.
Celicasaur
Hey buddy. Nice looking Supra Where abouts in West London are you from? There are a few of us over this way. Thank you sir, I'm from Hounslow. Funnily enough a few weeks ago I was driving on the A40 towards Westfield and saw a lovely red Supra and he said hello to me. I asked about his car's power and he said 650hp....I felt like a loser with a sub 300hp stock motor A very clean car indeed and the previous owner is definitely on here lol. I have a SARD ECU for this car if you are thinking BPU. Thank you - it wasn't you by any chance was it? The seller told me that the prev owner bought an NSX from him or something? I found an old invoice for a set of Racing Hart CR wheels in the service history...I was thinking damnit, those would look epic on the car. SARD ECU....if I use that, will it negate the need to get an FCD and fettle with wires to the stock ECU? Is the SARD ECU tunable like a Power FC? What benefit does it offer, other than additional fuelling for higher load...? Does it induce slightly more ignition timing, higher rev limit etc? But never bought any NSX from that trader. The SARD EUC is plug and play none tuneable but it's perfect for Bpu as you had mentioned. Celicasaur
I must also give a special shout out to Frank Bullit, whom was kind enough to reach out to me on Supraforums.com and help me work out why my forum membership wasn't working over here. I signed up ages ago, but couldn't post. Turned out in the end that I didn't know I needed to pay the annual fee in order to post. I did...and here I am. Frank Bullitt
Evening Glad to see its all sorted & more than happy to help There are loads of club activities to get involved with and a lot of knowledge which will come with with realistic power figures Photos are of good quality and a decent size, much better than a phone photo. Your car looks lovely with the subtle changes, anything else planned exterior wise? Celicasaur
Thanks Frank Exterior-wise, I'm only really contemplating getting an oem spoiler fitted in place of the TRD style one. It looks lovely particularly the side angle, but I feel that from the rear , it doesn't flow as well with the body....but that's just me nit-picking. Iffff I can find a cheap stock bumper at some point, I'll get one of those too. I adore the Do-luck front end, but living in West London, it's too nerve-wracking over bumps and car parks. I'm going to have the 2-3 small dents which i've seen taken out by a specialist, then i'll detail it nicely in the late Spring. Other than that....most of my money with the car will be spent under the hood. - - - Updated - - - Thanks Frank Exterior-wise, I'm only really contemplating getting an oem spoiler fitted in place of the TRD style one. Celicasaur
Ahhhh yes, hello!! I was getting so much stick from the Mrs because I was being a nerd, following your car for ages after we spoke. In my head I thought....man....it's rare enough for the world to even see one Supra...but two next to each other...I gave the people what I (thought) they wanted to see On a more serious note, are you going to the Bluewater meet this Friday evening?
