MSD Fuel Pump Booster

Thor

Recommended Posts

I thought the Regulator controlled the pressure....if not does that mean now that I'm running a modified Walbro 341 that I HAVE increased fuel pressure already???

Was about to get an FSE or A-FPR, confused now. :conf:

this unit may actually work, and increase flow if it can maintain the increase in current flow , your pümp doesnt overheat,or pump

wires, or the pump insulation breaks down ! coüld also set fire to

yoür pride and joy

Alex - If you plot a graph for the fuel pump of max pressure attainable against gallons per hour delivered it will lose pumping pressure as your flow increases. So you can find your pressure dropping off at WOT high boost high revs regardless of what your FPR is set to, just because the pump can't give you the pressure you're asking for.

Alex, It shouldn't affect pressure but the pump will flow more the higher the voltage, however, you would need to raise the static pressure if you wanted to use small injectors to flow more. If you were to use this booster with a Walbro which has significantly less draw, I can't see it being an issue with cabling.

Upgrading the wiring isn't an issue....its not that hard....the wires my new pump came with were significantly thicker than stock, so I could upgrade the rest too.

I think the question for me is, does the 341 produce enough flow at 12v for what my pi$$y j-spec turbo's require at WOT (circa 1.2bar)

My dyno sheets (member 15 pictures) shows the fueling drops off from 5k rpm onwards, i'm trying to just up the pressure a bit (cheap and nasty, I know  )

Matt H did the uprated pump + FSE and he has no drop off with a similar spec to me. The dyno people bounced his off the rev limiter unlike mine which had to be cut short at 6,000 rpm.
