el_bandido
I've finally capitulated and joined the Hybrid bandwagon. I test drove an IS-F as a potential replacement, as brilliant as it was, I couldn't justify owning a Supra and having a V8 as a daily. So I've replaced my IS250 with a 300h. I've now owned every generation of Lexus IS, to be honest I thought it would be crap, but Lexus have really stepped up their game when it comes to driver comfort. It's not as fun to hoon about as the V6 was, but on the plus side, I'll now be raking in a lot more of that 45p a mile when I'm on business. Went for a Premier with the Mark Levinson stereo, so that should make up for the lack of 6 cylinder symphony.

nolizma
Congrats! I like the colour! Would look great with a set of nice wheels. By the way I got myself a IS250 a couple of months ago. Very pleased!
nigelboyne
Lovely cars I have gs 250f sport daily drive taxi I get 28mpg average,I need to source either is250 or is 300h wondering is the is 250 similar mpg or lot better, and how is is 300h on fuel, any input be great thanks
el_bandido
I was averaging 24mpg on the IS250. Best I ever managed was 47.6mpg on a motorway journey to Scotland at 67mph for the entire journey. If you want something more economical then an is250 is not for you. The 300h has been getting 58.7mpg over 210 miles (as that's all I've done). It is absolutely excellent around town, the electric motor is on most of the time. el_bandido
Wow 58mpg that will cancell out the cvt gearbox, You can't tell it's a CVT if you put it in sport mode, but that will kill your MPG down to about 43.

el_bandido
a 320d would probably still be better on MPG but the 300h will age well and is incredibly comfortable. The premier spec is a nice place to be and the Mark Levinson stereo really is crystal clear.
nigelboyne
Ah I don't advise anyone on the German stuff, Lexus/toyota/Honda just can't be beat for long-term quality. Yes is300h premier model is what they be getting thanks again

el_bandido
Like the Lexus, was tempted by the ISF but haven't got round to it yet !! It was a fantastic car, but I just couldn't justify having the Supra as a weekend car and a 5.0 V8 as a daily. The 300h has significantly reduced my monthly costs in terms of fuel and tax, all of which is going towards the Supra.
