ronttuk
Well tomorrow is the day i say good bye to my UK spec supra it has been written off by a spotty 18 yr old who thinks passing a driving test 6 months ago gives him the skills of a F1 driver (prosecution pending). Ive owned Supras from 1992 starting with the 2.8 Celica Supra 3,0 turbo NA and moving up to the twin turbo. Now its time to move on ill never find a UK spec like mine so I have bought a 2015 mustang 2.3 eco boost (dont laugh). Ive met some great people on here had some good laughs days out camping in a monsoon at santa pod eating donuts and more, and been given some good advice, So thanks guys n girls have fun be safe

blythmrk
Extremely sad news we kind of knew what the insurance were going to do. Did you try and keep it or just want it off your mind? Good luck in the future

blythmrk
Got 23k in final settlement 157000miles auto Did you have to give evidence of what it was worth or were the insurance company helpful?
evinX
Hi mate if you could give us some foresight as what to expect if this ever happens to us will be a great help towards the club. Cheers
ronttuk
Assessor was reasonable he looked for UK specs for sale could only find 1, higher mileage than mine didnt look as nice, i had new tyres all round done less than a 1000 miles recon turbos cpl thousand miles ago full respray last year new wheels the list just goes on and on and on, first offer was between £3000 and £17500 think me laughing out loud down the phone got them to rethink,
Westy
Sorry to hear about your loss. £23k!? That seems genuinely low for any UK spec. I'm guessing auto? I'm going through an agreed value argument with Sky ATM re the value of my JDM 1A1 TT6. Head in hands frustrating trying to explain current values to them. blythmrk
You didn’t have an agreed value then so not too bad in the end!
The Raven
23k seems like a good deal in the end.
Tyson
Another one bites the dust will the car get crushed or will it be sold at auction to be repaired ? What kind of paperwork have they given telling you about the payout ? Is it possible to share without any personal information ? It would be great if you could as this could prove invaluable should another member be in the same predicament. I can see with the rarity of these cars coming up for sale that potentially the next time this happens there won’t be a car for sale and someone might get screwed. You can still stay around you don’t need a Supra to stay a member !
jamesmark
Why, why another one, when will it end? Another person that buys the wrong Mustang.
Style
Such a shame At least you got a fairly decent payout. I didn't think they'd have written it off if that was the agreed value tbh, must've had some pretty bad damage under all the bashed panels? Marcus GTE
Sorry rob hear the bad news. Who were you insured by out of interest? Thanks for sharing the info; as has been said, it’s useful for members

I was offerd a interim payment to get the car repaired when i phone them up and said where can i get the bits they said no idea as they cant sauce the parts either !! I told them if they wanted the car repaired come pick it up and bring it back repaired which they said they couldnt do or recommend one of their body shops to do the work to a satisfactory standard. jonc
Wow just catching up on here after a few days away from it. Sorry to hear this. I drive mine daily and the biggest thing that worries me is some idiot driving into me because he wants to get in front. BMWs are the worse. Just a query but why the eco Mustang and not the GT? Don't get me wrong the eco engine is the same as the ST but boy that V8 rumble. I fancy a UK V8
rg500
Could you not buy the car back and repair it yourself.
