Door handle key part & wiring question

Evening Forum.

I have two questions.

1) the previous owner had made a key hole delete on the doorhandles. I’m in the process of remaking the keyhole again. Anyone who knows how it works? How does the key cylinder look like and is it possible to source one? Will I then have to change the ignition cylinder also in order to be able to use the same key?

I have uploaded a few pictures.

2) Anyone knows what this wiring is for? (See pictures) Its located inside the door. There is no where to plug whatsoever. Could it be for the led light around the key cylinder?

I'd buy another set of handles and have them resprayed vs trying to restore your original handles.

The plug you see connects to the door barrel loom which you are missing. It connects to the door locking loom.

Unless you still have the original door barrels you will need to source a new set, which you correctly point out, will require a matching set for the rest of the car.

The best place to source these would be Keron at Extreme Performance.
