Markie
OK Boyo's, Just wondering if anyone knows why this is happening to my poor baby.. Recently, when putting the old foot down, she seems to be a touch slow on the uptake, then all of a sudden she will spool up nice and fast on no:1. Number two comes online all well and good, but when changing gear and releaseing the clutch and pushing accelerator back down to the floor, you can really feel the car lunge forward like the power has died, but then a split second later she is off and boosting up again.. Does this all the time when putting the foot down hard and changing gears fast as you would when wanting to hammer it. Any ideas please? As its a bit annoying knowing something is not quite right with her... Thanks in advance.. Marcus. I was thinking plugs, but the ones in there arnt all that old.. Only few months and not much miles on them. (Denso IK24's)

Markie
Well, just removed one of the plugs. Below are some pics of how it looks. What do you guys think? Anything I could do when installing the new plugs which will stop them getting a bit sooty like this one? Looks to be running a tad rich to me? Turn up the boost the solution? Gone poping to get some replacment breather pipes from Toyota which I am also changing.. So hope to finish the job when I get back..

JohnA
I'd also check that the myriad of vacuum hoses are in good condition, without hairline cracks that leak under pressure
