Ozy1986
Hi all, Hope someone can help me with figuring out whats wrong with the gearbox on my supra. I recently changed the flywheel & clutch (standard Toyota parts). Ive driven the car for about 50 miles or so & its been great. Also i replaced the tripod bushes for some solid steel ones also. On the Sunday just gone, I drove to work. When I got into the car park I noticed a vibration through the gear lever & a sound which I can only describe as a empty power steering pump noise. I thought Id check the power steering just incase if it leaked out & sending a vibration through the shifter due to the bushes being solid now, but all seems well. I did have a very small leak in the gearbox through the selector seal which was replaced but I forgot to check the level. other than low gearbox oil has anyone any possible Idea what it could be?? thanks Ozy. SupraTRD_MK4
I would check the oil level if possible first. Did you replace the thrust bearing? Did you replace the pilot bearing in the flywheel as well? One of them could be the issue but I would check the oil level first as getting to those other two is going to involve removing the box
