The factory wastegate VSV controller is the blue VSV as follows:

Assuming you are using a P&P ecu that uses this VSV's wiring for boost control, then you need to cut the plug end off, and wire the two wires to your 3 port boost controller.

 

It does not matter what the orientation of the wires are

In terms of downpipe, manifold heat control

I only have my downpipe wrapped and a turbo blanket, never seen any issues with temps or hotstarts.

 

I suppose the more heat you keep in the system the more potential performance, but it's also alot more heat for the turbo to deal with. Upto you I guess.
