sidewaysdan
As I have a car lift in my garage I had limited space on one side due to the pillar so I decided to nock it out and put in a double roller door.. Quick video of it in action Edited October 10, 2018 by sidewaysdan (see edit history)

sidewaysdan
Yeah really happy with it. Now to move the lift into the centre and now I can work on both sides
Sheefa
That looks ace mate. Would love to do the same for mine but little brick wall in middle is a supporting wall I'm sure sadly. How much was the conversion if you don't mind me asking? Also do you have a Scissor lift? Cheers
mwilkinson
I was going to ask about the central pillar. I assume yours wasn't structural? Or did you put a steel in across the top?
Style
Looks great that! Plenty room for activities as well H-beam across the top to pick up the support instead maybe?
sidewaysdan
It originally had a 180mmx100mm wood beam across but wasn’t enough to hold the weigh so I bolted a 180mmx10mm steel plate to it.. .cost of the door was £1280 steel plate £90 and me and a mate fitted all in less than a day.. This is my lift Edited October 11, 2018 by sidewaysdan (see edit history)

sidewaysdan
Few more bits to take out then paint the floor but it’s getting there
dfrancis85
Looks ace mate, I did exactly the same thing last year to mine. Love it.
sidewaysdan
Wow yours looks superb. Did you sink your lift into the floor? As I was thinking of doing that in mine
