jim_supra
I'm looking to strip down the throttle body to have the casing vapour blasted clean. I've had all the other Ali parts on the engine blasted now and they are as new so this will now stand out like a sore thumb! Anyone done this before? My main concern is the screws that hold the butterfly valve in place. They are stuck fast and will likely have to drill them out? If I do that, then what's the best method to secure new screws back in place so that they have no chance of coming out ? (imagine that's why they are in so tight now) Will Loctite be enough? Thanks
SupraTRD_MK4
Red loctite mate. Most cases you will round the bolt before that gives way. My engine company uses it on big industrial engines on the threads of the piston cooling nozzle bolts

Dnk
Before you take it apart mark the butterfly to fit it back in the same position, unless it can't be fitted upside down back to front.

Good point, thank you, I'll scribe a little arrow onto each one.
