JCresswell
Hi, Im getting a "pop" "distortion" sound from my front right speaker, Iwas going to fit new speakers as the head unit (still original) works fine, BUT i took it to my local ICE HIFI INCARAUDIO:baa: :baa: guy and he said it was the head unit!!!!, apparently the internal amplifier is renound for blowing the left (normally both F + R) channel, has anybody just replaced speakers and the noise has gone or is it indeed the head unit!!! Im not a huge fan of loud music but i do like to listen to the odd CD now and then, so id like to fix it either way?? Any advise would be great! Matt Harwood
Sounds like you spoke to the local Red Indian to me... Big Chief Talking Bollox! I've never come across this, and besides, Supra's have external amps. Not internal. Change the front speakers and I'm fairly confident it'll be alright. They'er not very good speakers as standard, and the DO blow easily.

Steve W
anyway, you've GOTTA ! do the front speakers anyhow (Matt would agree I feel . . . = worst bit of set-up) SO, do them FIRST, if it doesn't cure it - no loss at ALL ! ?
JCresswell
can you recomend anything ? what size are they???, I like MB Quart and Focal speakers but they are expensive and im really only after a replacement ? ScottPawsey
I've got MB quart all round, 6" components in the front with the tweeters in the kick wells and 6" two way in the rear sound ok and they only cost £180 and £20 for some brown bread, to firm everything up. Matt Harwood
There are no straight forward replacements for the Supra's front doors. They are 10 cm speakers with 3 mounting holes at 120 degrees, (triangular). You can get normal 10 cm speakers in there without too much effort, or you can remove the factory speaker boxes and fit 17cm speakers to the door cards... Or, you could really go to town and make yourself new boxes to house new speakers... There's lots of possibilities.
