Sisson
Looking at an auto supra for a after work / weekend car. Unsure if I want to go for single or tt. What do single turbo autos fetch? (Not interest in somthing with a big body kit).
mellonman
auto is better as a TT in my view unless you get a hi stall , as I have a TT and then went single , also a bpu auto was beating 500 -600 bhp 1/4 miles at suprapod last year

Also I can only find one for sale on auto-trader that's been on there for a while. The 6 speed box would you be very expensive when it goes BOOM! I was thinking of getting an auto with flappy paddle mod.

marc_p
Having owned literally every option (N/A, TT, BPU, Single, Auto, 5 Speed, 6 Speed, Hardtop, Aerotop), I fondly remember the sweet spot.............6 Speed, BPU, Aerotop running around 420bhp. However, the autobox in the Supra is sublime and I would never knock it, still my favorite auto box to date for smoothness(and I have a 2018 Audi S-tronic box in my current daily)

How do you know they are good or too much? A stock Supra at circa 300bhp is a rapid car.
and1c
Mine is 500 rwhp single, running Titan auto box with a 3800 rpm Titan hi stall. I love it to be honest. It's excessively rapid and easy to drive. .

Sisson
One on auto trader look OK. Hybrid turbos? Have to agree 6speed bpu 1.2bar gorgeous sweet spot it's way supra should have came of assembly line.
marc_p
One on auto trader look OK. Hybrid turbos? /QUOTE] Personally, I wouldn't touch a Supra running nitrous, especially a 150 shot on a stock engine, only time it wouldn't raise a red flag is on a big and built single using it for pre-spool. Plus that car has cheap tires, don't care how nice the car is, I never touch a car with cheap tires as they are essentially cutting costs on a safety aspect and makes you think where else have they cut corners and used budget parts. It's relatively cheap and easy to get 420hp out of the engine so I wouldn't rule out cars with standard engines, you'll just have to budget around £1500 to go BPU. I've never heard of one blowing up, but plenty of them are needing rebuilds now because of poor changes, whining, and crunching going into gears. Arnout/Suprasport is constantly getting interest from those wanting box rebuilds.
