kgctim
Question: I have an aftermarket BOV but the previous owner never did anything with the stock valve. is there any harm with me just pulling the valve and connecting these two ports together?? OR is it best to just put some kind of caps on the ports?? (Blue Square in picture) Next Question: Can someone PLEASE chime in with the correct name and part number for these dang Accordion hoses for the turbo lines. Please and Thank you!! (Red circle in picture..) Bonus Question: Has anyone replaced all their hoses with silicone? if so, what ID sizes did you buy? *Again, Thank you!!! *I'm referring mostly to the lines all over the big vacuum manifold and the turbo system. I know I can easily order the water lines for the rad, but dont want to waste time or money buying random sized silicon hoses for the stuff if someone out there already knows what worked well for their caf Edited September 3, 2018 by kgctim (see edit history)
Mk4Gaz
Cap the ports with silicone caps, I think they're either 16mm or 19mm, although I can't remember - it was a long time ago that my car was still twins! Most people replace the 'accordion' hoses with silicone, you can get kits through whifbitz, or just remove them and measure yourself - 52mm springs to mind. The other vacuum lines are mostly a combination of 3mm and 4mm id, with a couple of 6mm and 8mm. For the cost of vacuum hose, you're better off just buying a metre of each, and using what fits best
jim_supra
The accordion style hoses are called turbo link pipes, the part number is 17341-46070 I bought 2 from amayama recently for £20 each plus shipping so not overly expensive.
