Swampy442
But - Story goes we (my brother and I) had the opportunity to buy 2 pretty special Aristo's, one we had the most interest in had this And more importantly this Plan was to swap one car for a Supra, transplant the big turbo 6 speed into it. An asian chap from Birmingham was happy, nee desperate to do a swap, apparently a supra legend, had 7 cars etc etc. All we wanted was a stock body car, didn't have to be spectacular just straight, didn't even have to have running gear. Anyway this lovely, rust free, never raced or rallied example of an NA auto is what was dropped off. Has the worst crash repaired rear quarter Ive ever seen, more filler in it than metal. He hastily departed. 110% my fault for not actually viewing the car, large amount of lies on his part [/url] The shell, in my opinion, is fucked and not worth the effort repairing so, now here comes the dilemna, I have an utterly stock, 98 TT auto, would it be financial suicide to stick a T51 6 speed in it, or financial genius? Sheefa
If you plan on keeping the car as an appreciating asset then financial suicide. If you plan on using it for fun and plan on keeping it for many years to come and enjoy her fully then crack on with the transplant mate. Pudsey
Wasn't there a rolling shell for sale on here in Bristol. That would be your best bet. This one. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?349893-1997-vvti-6speed-shell&highlight=Shell Edited August 13, 2018 by Pudsey (see edit history)

squiffy
I know that car! I questioned pj for years as to when he was going to break / sell that mk1 to me! [emoji23] If i was you, I'd put it in the supra and be happy [emoji1360]
trebor69
I agree with MattP....his family does need to be slain.
mc92
Wow at the state of that silver supra. I don't think I've seen one THAT rusty. I'm of the opinion that finding a new rolling shell is a better idea than modifying a nice stock example.
Swampy442
Yeah me too mate, I planned to get it running but frankly, the wiring is an absolute mess and beyond help
Al Massey
Thought the Aristo you was going to swap needed much more work doing to it and wasn’t ready for a swap? No wonder why he was desperate with the supra in that state. Least mine was solid :/
Swampy442
It was, you'd have taken 1 look round it and said no way, it wasn't fair on you
blythmrk
I cannot believe the front inner wing that’s shocking the rust is becoming common problem areas. On the 98 vvti auto it’s your car so do as you wish but logic says keep it as is and modify another.
safcdixon
Do the body repair imo, they’re actually worth saving these days shells are now worth more than the repairs and labour stripping and swapping are on that one

bignum
You`ve been massively done over on that silver shell mate, who did you buy it off just so everyone can steer clear.
