ant141
Hi, getting an air suction noise (slight rasping, best way I can describe it) under acceleration and immediate power loss with the triangle warning light on after a few seconds of hard acceleration. Car is an UK auto. Sounds like a pipe has let go possibly ? Any advice would be appreciated if anyone has had this problem before. Thanks in advance. evinX
Check your exhaust system. The exhaust to gearbox bracket snaps. System drops and cracks usually on the 1st cats as they will take most strain from the weight.
ant141
Thanks Evin, forgot to mention though car has original exhaust but has been de-catted due to the cats getting damaged. Might still be the issue though. It feels like it's sucking more air in though and obviously saying that's enough and cutting out automatically. Sorry for the explanation. evinX
No worries. Get a long stick. Stick a strip of paper to one end and probe around the exhaust system and see if it starts flapping around from any released pressure

ant141
Yes boost leak sounds right. UK TT auto but running with no cats. It's a suction noise and it's a little down on power but then lets go after keeping the boost on. Thanks for the replies already
Dnk
Intercooler hose coming off or split
ant141
Thanks Dnk, this happened last year but I tightened it up again. Might have a split in it though. Wasn't tight when I checked it so guess last mechanic forgot to tighten? Anyone know of the inlet manifold to cause this problem?
