Samurai 20V
Hi Gents. Was fixing a vac leak today, found a "leak" on the map sensor. Seems a very thick sticky substance. Is the sensor stuffed? Does it have a gasket? Car seems to be running normal. Thanks.
Durandal
That just looks like some oil as it is all over the connector as well. Possibly from the pipe above it?
Samurai 20V
Nothing above the sensor..
Durandal
I've seen oil collect around there from the valve cover or a split vent hose from the valve cover/PCV system. In your pictures it looks like it has leaked all over that area. Could be residue from the intake coming out where your vac leak was as well. Samurai 20V
Thanks, will pull the covers off and check the pcv hoses.
Samurai 20V
Just to close this off, the "leak" was the underside of the sensor that had melted.. Was still driving fine though..
