Takes time to kill the engine / delayed stall after removing key

Hi All,

I have converted my 2jz ge/auto to 1jz/r154, everything seems to be perfect, engine runs like a clock. But one thing that i don`t like is when i turn the key to kill the engine and pull the key out, it takes like 3-4 seconds for it to actually stall, it feels like it only dies when the fuel is completely burned from the engine, or if i press the gas pedal it kills it self faster.

Maybe someone had a similar issue? I tried looking in to pin out but i cant seem to find anything to do with the fuel cut, unless it is a different wording there.

Thanks,

ED

Get someone to check the Main EFI Relay output with a volt meter. If it dosent drop to 0 volts when you turn key to "off", then you have wired something thats providing voltage to that relay.

Sounds like maybe your EFI relay isn't turning off, but your fuel pump is which is why engine keeps running until enough pressure out of rail drops that injectors have no more fuel to play with.

Thank you, I will get that checked :)

There are some differences to the wiring between soarer and supra and facelift supra - the soarer the main ECU is supplied by IG2 from the ignition switch ,the supra uses IG1 contact , the soarer has the fuel pump suplied via its FPECU via the EFI MAIN RELAY , this is controlled by the ECU and has a built in delay to shut off the fuel pump of a couple of seconds , this is to keep a prime fuel pressure ready for the next start on switch off - what chris said : some crossover is holding the ignition live in place of the fuel pump
