Dave_Batch
gr version must be based with m3-m5 power, toyota wouldnt be that daft to make their flagship sports car come out with 320bhp... I'd say were going to get something pretty tasty...
Dave_Batch
Sorry, better view!
JasonR24
If it comes with 460hp or around that then that’s fair enough and I’d be a lot more excited but I doubt it seeing as the cayman s (the target car) only comes with 350hp.... el_bandido
Tada did say the diff would be something new, from that link ric posted "eight-speed paddleshift auto and an active differential (an e-motor wind the diff’s ratio up and down via a reduction gear)” I don't care what's been said, that is bollocks. It will be the lock that is electronically controlled. Unless Toyota have introduced something that functions like a CVT, a variable gear ratio is useless. What is very useful is being able to independently vary the wheel lock for inside and outside, which I guarantee you this diff is doing. raddys
I love my mk4 and I'm very tempted just to put a deposit down just for the fact the 1st 300 are limited edition.. But how LE they are is stopping me.. is it just an LE sticker like you get on them god awful corsa's or will the 1st 300 be Properly LE. If the whole car was built and engineered by toyota I would have already taken the plunge but I don't like the fact it's all bmw underneath... ooo decisions decisions
JamieP
Says 300hp here
Ric
300 DIN/PS is approx 296hp in proper HP
JasonR24
Actually it says >300hp Therefore it can mean one of 2 things. 1. The base model puts out at least 300hp 2. The top spec car puts out at least 300hp. Judging by the Z4 I’d say it’s around 340hp. Hopefully there really is a surprise somewhere. JamieP
Maybe it just means it has 300 hp

Kendo11
I know horsepower isn't everything these days as power delivery is much more advanced but that's pretty disappointing isn't it?
Bobbeh
Maybe it just means it has 300 hp I bet you secretly put a deposit down Im thinking 350-380bhp myself.

Thorin
I still chuckle at all the criticism of this car, when pretty much every stat is going to be better than the MKIV. Lets face it, a remap and this thing will be a beast.
chazuk
I still chuckle at all the criticism of this car, when pretty much every stat is going to be better than the MKIV. Lets face it, a remap and this thing will be a beast. Mk3 owners probably said the same about the Mkiv it only has 40hp more and they want nearly 50k for it , technology moves on it will calm down soon as its released and tuners start doing bpu packages and company's like sard and apr start doing aero bits, I cant wait to see one with a set of ssr's lowered with a apr spoiler I think it will look the business . I am pretty sure I read on here a long time ago branners owns http://www.mkvsupra.net so when is that going live! Wez
I was in a Lexus showroom this morning and saw the LC500 for the first time, now that should have the Supra badge, stunning
mellonman
I must agree the lc500 is more supra looking , but the lc is surely the soarer successor
tayr
i don't think Toyota would put out a sub par car after a 16 year wait. I think you should hold all judgement until you drive it personally.
