Dnk
Any point in buying expensive versions of these USB car chargers or will one for £2 do the job ? Or open to recommendations you guys already use, cheers https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/262968259797?chn=ps&adgroupid=51456967435&rlsatarget=pla-400778349273&abcId=1130086&adtype=pla&merchantid=115148351&poi=&googleloc=1006875&device=c&campaignid=1029031571&crdt=0 https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/283006773621?chn=ps&adgroupid=50076494057&rlsatarget=pla-412978457970&abcId=1133916&adtype=pla&merchantid=9940304&poi=&googleloc=1006875&device=c&campaignid=1058606040&crdt=
Frank Bullitt
It all depends how “clean/OEM” you want it to look. I went with one by Blue Sea Systems, it’s a dual charger that replaces the cigarette lighter.
Dnk
not bothered what it looks like, a black one would be preferable
Frank Bullitt
not bothered what it looks like, a black one would be preferable That’s exactly what my missus said On to the USB, I imagine with the more expensive option you will be paying for the branding. Other than that USB chargers are pretty basic from my understanding. I went for this - https://www.bluesea.com/products/1016/Dual_USB_Charger_Socket so I didn’t have anything getting in the way. evinX
I got a dual rectangle shaped one of ebay for less than 5.00, white LEDs, 2 pin. Easy to wire up. You can see mine illuminated above the right dash vent near the upper glove box. https://s26.postimg.cc/ln2sstmuh/20180216_025209.jpg
auzzam
Whichever you buy just make sure there is at least one 2.1amp port to make sure your devices charge quickly
Guest Budz86
Tried a couple of cheap push in ones but they didn't stay snug fitting for long and you'd have to have them at a certain angle etc before they'd work and bumps in the road would shut them off. Got SRD to wire in a cheap kit off the back of the 12v socket and much better now. Parts were less than a tenner too iirc
Burna
Dunk, this is the one I've been using for years https://www.lambda-tek.com/TomTom-9UUC-001-24~sh/B3800971&origin=gbaseGB28.4?gclid=Cj0KCQjwjtLZBRDLARIsAKT6fXylYpILUopFlFkDi01qQQY91NQ8CvvaBMKGqzYLVW1SwaGggAGd3n0aAoYSEALw_wcB I like it because I can run the satnav off the first usb, charge the phone quicker off the second usb with higher ampage (Fast charge), and then still leaves a socket for the beer cooler/passenger phone/cameras.
