bayside_supra
Hi guys Can anyone help me with this problem? I bought some facelift tail lights. I thought they would be easy to fit but seems nothing ever is. When I plug them in they light up wrong; The indicators light up the reverse lights... The reverse lights light up the indicators... I also only get one red light each side where on my old lights I got all four? The other thing I’m not sure about is how to rewire in my rear fogs on this button This is how they are set up on my old prefacelift lights and they are the 2 inner red lights. What do I need to cut and split into on the facelift looms? Assuming I can get them working obviously! And no you cannot swap the bulb holders over they do not fit [emoji23] Any help would be great Edited June 24, 2018 by bayside_supra (see edit history)

jagman
Wiring diagrams are available on line - just follow the wire colours there to connect the correct feeds to the correct lights - lose the scotch locks as they are one of the crappiest ideas ever invented and cause all sorts of issues
Frank Bullitt
Were those lights wired in on a UK spec car? I would buy and fit a new set of looms, those look in a right state.
j_jza80
First of all, those looms are in a horrendous state, and won't be helping anything. Didn't you receive new ones with your facelift lights? Those horrid scotchloks need to go ASAP (those red plastic connectors) they are terrible things at the best of times, but you can see the wires in them are corroded. When you say "When I plug them in they light up wrong; The indicators light up the reverse lights", do you mean that when you turn the indicators on, the reverse lights come on as the reverse lights normally would, or are the reverse lights flashing? Always start with the easy stuff - are you sure you have the bulb holders in the correct place on the lights? IE, are the looms mixed up or installed backwards? evinX
Id get 2 new facelift looms, use the rear fog conversion on here and make a new clean loom. Those tap clips things are just so wrong. Especially for rear lights where the wiring is basically subject to the elements
mattdavies
You need to switch the looms around, if you the wrong outer light is lighting up on each light then take all the bulb holders out and put them in the other way round ( indicator bulb in reverse light, reverse light in indicator )
bayside_supra
Yep it’s definitely dodgy looms. Bought them from a guy called Annan in the WhatsApp group chat, will see if he will help me sort this as they are not as described at all
