Profec e-01 problem

Steve

Recommended Posts

My unit wont read my sd card in the controller. Therefore cant use the e-01. Just keeps saying "Reinsert sd card".

Can the card be re formatted on a PC?

Or does the sd card work another way?

Was going to the Northants Meet but cant get there now.

The car wont even tickover. Think i must have pressed buttons when the controller was in the arm rest.

Any ideas????

You can't just reformat the SD card, it contains the software for the E01 as well as storing your settings. Also it's not a standard PC format. You used to be able to download the SD card contents and a utility to write it from the Emanage yahoo group. IIRC it was for Linux only though. Can't remember.

It shouldn't make any difference to the running of the car though. Unless you've got an Emanage as well and it's screwed up your map somehow.

Don't know what your setup is regarding injector size or whatever, but if you can get along with just the standard ECU (i.e. you've still got normal injectors/fuel pressure etc) then you can unhook the Emanage and bypass it. That'd let you use the car at least. Is the activity light on the Emanage normal? I managed to get mine in a state where it flashed green-yellow-red by downloading the Emanage firmware from the E01. Had to redownload it from the support tool.

Otherwise I think you're going to have to borrow a laptop lead from someone. If you get stuck you can borrow mine for a couple of days or something.

Actually, I've just had a thought. A while ago I managed to break my E01 display unit so I had to order another one. I ended up buying a new E01. It's not the Profec with the boost control, just the Emanage control one, as it was cheaper and they are exactly the same apart from the SD card. So I've got an SD card for the E01 spare. It's not the boost control one, so you'd lose those features, but it should let you have a look at the Emanage settings at least.

I can post it out to you Monday if you want, might help you get mobile at least.
