Kendo11
Evening all. Busy day today getting ready for a week away in the sun but this morning a local car club I help run had a charity dyno day. I had no idea what my NA Manual would make, I was hoping for somewhere in between 200 and the stock figure of 224, bearing in mind the age of the car. An NA auto went before me and made 202 so I wasn't enormously confident, at that point I'd take 200. Ended up making 232, with what the guy described as an awesome torque figure: Considering the age and how many HP cars loose over time (1 per year I think I read somewhere) I'm absolutely over the moon with that. Was also a good education from the guy, he had a play with some atmospheric settings to show how figures etc. can be manipulated. Really interesting stuff. Al Massey
That’s actually good going since the average is down on power and now you’re up on power. Guessing you got the Mines ECU fixed then?
Kendo11
Yeah really happy to be fair. No this was one from a chap in Finland, still have the other one - struggling to find somewhere to fix it [emoji852]️
mplavery
Great result As you said you can lose power over time My girlfriends Zed is 280 by the book We done a few mods like decats, up rev among other things and only still got 283 well 3bhp more which was a little annoying but it did drive better Though it could of been down at the start I can see a R34 in the back ground, what did that make ? SupraP-Z
Great results man! I would have been over the moon with that figure while mine was NA. Theres only a handful of things left to increase power on the old NA (cams, ITB's, nitrous to name a few) but as an NA-'Ter I would fully recommend to save the money and invest in going turbo - I honestly wish id done it sooner man. Your car has come leaps and bounds btw, you've really turned it around! Looks real nice On a side note, there's a guy they call the amp doctor (Gordon) who specialises in amp repairs, used him before and can confirm his work is excellent. Not sure if it applies in this case, but it is electronics at the end of the day. May be worth contacting him and letting him take a look at the mines ECU? If its something like the capacitor, i cant imagine it being a problem as that's exactly what blew on my amps. Good as new and working perfectly for the past 3 years

Good as new and working perfectly for the past 3 years Yeah very happy, thanks I will try Gordon and see how I get on - appreciate the recommendation. Car will be staying as an NA though, I wouldn't want to NA-T this. Cams are on my to-do list but at £800 a set that's just too much money I think. Thanks man. It didn't have a go unfortunately, not sure why to be honest. There was another Supra that didn't have a go either. I think both of them are still having work done. The guy who bought my car managed to fix the Mines ecu, was a capacitor or something along those lines IIRC. Think that's possibly the issue here. Great result mate you have given that car a new lease of life over the years! Great result! The car looks very nice as well! /QUOTE] Blimey that’s good Thanks guys! Been in Ibiza this week forgetting my own name hence the late reply, but thanks!
evinX
I think one day we should put ours on a dyno and compare them auto, manual. Could be fun as ive never done a dyno

Could be fun as ive never done a dynoYeah it was my first time on a dyno too, I was really nervous haha. There was an na auto with us on the day, roughly same age. Zero mods aside from a 2nd decat and straight pipe exhaust and that made 202.
