mkIIIdiehard
is this a common issue, my plastic windscreen vents have sunken down into the top of the dash, or the dash has swollen up leaving the plastic vents behind. should i gently hook the vents and try pulling them up and back into place. Axl
My Supra has done the same
Tommyd16
Unfortunately because of the age of car things like this are becoming more common. My last Supra the vents didn’t drop but around them the dash kind of warped and lifted which is a common problem. I guess the best solution is to fit a sun shield on inside of the windscreen or a car cover.
blythmrk
It’s most likely sun damage but could be damp affecting the structure? The best thing for sun protection is was of those sun screens for when your parked up I have seen a lot of the rsoc using them especially on the mkiii escorts as the dashes were shocking for cracking. Dnk
Pretty common and not an easy fix
Big Mark
It's not the vent dropping but the dash material breaking down and expanding. The vent clicks in place from above so you could pull it out, but won't do you much use as dash is the cause. I got my dash leather trimmed, which sorted the issue. SupraTRD_MK4
Just an FYI. If you have any stone chip on the windscreen, don't put those shiny type of windscreen protectors when parked in direct sun as the heat will build up between that and the windscreen and crack the stone chip. Love the job on that dash of yours Mark.
