rider
Hi there ihave the usual problem with the hatch rust, before I proceed in doing it is there anywhere I can get a spare screen if needed just in case things go wrong in the removal. Advice would be to hire professional fitters to do the removal and replacement. I used autoglass, they wouldn't guarantee the job as they could no longer restock the glass so its at your own risk either way. Some US sites still list the screen available for $800 but that doesn't necessarily mean it is available. So you just have to hope the fitters don't break it. There are specialist companies that will manufacture bespoke screens for classic cars so there is always a means to replace broken discontinued glass, not cheaply though. Dnk
Do a google search for local glass suppliers, i'd be amazed if you can't buy a non genuine screen, i can get one for my soft dash Range Rover from Pilkington glass for very sensible money, around £250 Unless there's unknown damage to the glass its very hard to break unless you dropped it Somewhere like this place should have stock http://www.master-auto-glass.com/products/#_automotive_glass Edited May 17, 2018 by Dnk (see edit history)
