Is it worth buying this one?

Hi Guys,

I assume most of you have seen this supra on ebay, which is for sale for the last couple of months.

I was wondering maybe it is worth giving him a reasonable offer and trying to restore it?

I hate that body kit and etc, It needs to go back to OEM+

It is a 2jz-gte auto

Maybe someone went to look at it and have more info on it?

I wouldn’t bother. Looks a lot more work than at first glannce. Especially with the rust on the rear missing quarter. And all the gaffer tape tape there. God knows what’s under the rest of the kit. And it looks like the battery caught fire in the crash or just leaked very badly. Get it for £3k and take the engine out!

Sorry dont have a link no more as it ran out, just saved the pics and his contacts. He wants around 7.5-8k for it, I have a unit and i do all the work by myself, so i thought maybe its worth saving if the shell is not rust bucket. The only reason i am looking at it is becouse 2jz-gte are going for like 12k+ these days, and i am thinking i can get this saved for much less than that by doing all the work myself.

I have just recently sold my 300zz TT manual, thats why I am in a hunt of another project and yes i have missed that TT auto :)
Save it! If you can do the work yourself then that will keep the cost down. If you do get it take plenty of pictures of the restoration. Can't believe people are being so negative. These car's are becoming few and far between now. [emoji106]

£7.5K is why I'm being negative, it needs 2 rear quarters, front wings, headlights, side skirts/side trims, all hockey sticks, front bumper, rear bumper, wheels unless you can reverse the inners of the split rims? At the very least a partial respray. Loads of these parts are hard to source second hand or costly new and that's before you even start to look at any normal issues or damage you can't see.

If you own a bodyshop then perhaps otherwise I'd say negativity was warranted in this case.

If the engine, the running gear (6sp and diff) and interior can be recycled it'd probably be a £8k scrapper (not a great deal more as none of the bodywork is worth a fig) so asking £7.5k means the seller is dreaming or very hopeful. Looks like it was a ragged track car that left the track in an out of control fashion.
