Tom's ECU

Hi all. Just been poking around as you do with a relatively new car, and have found it's got a Toms ecu. Is that anything of interest or is it pretty standard stuff?

I'll post what ive found out, so this isn't a dead thread.... Apparently the Tom's has a more aggressive fuel map, timing map, higher fuel cut, and no speed limiter. I'm not sure how exactly, but someone said it's good for 550bhp, but seeing as it's still not mapable which I guess means you can't change turbo and injectors etc, I don't see how. Doesn't sound like a bad thing to have though

They are the same as the blitz and mines ECUs.

 

Typically, they are all mapped for bpu, with a daughter board soldered into a stock ECU.

 

They generally are set up for:

 

Fuel maps for boost to 1.2bar

More aggressive timing

Raised rev limit

Speed limit removed

Decat and exhaust

Ah ok cool. Mine is still stock other than intake, but it'll be BPU soon enough. Sounds like a nice surprise then

TOMS ones are one of the better ECU's. As you said generic tweaks, timing, fuelling, boost cut and speed cut removal. BPU will make better use of it
