Mugello
Item:- 2JZ Aluminium Torque Plate For Machining. Condition/Mileage:- I have only used the torque plate once on my 2JZ build, no longer require hence its for sale. Price:- £150. (This is advertised elsewhere). Postage:- Free anywhere within the UK. Or Collection From:- PE13 Area. It cost me a fortune to have specially made as torque plates for the 2JZ are rare and super expensive! Any serious engine builder will tell you given the length of the inline 2JZ, you need a torque plate in order to provide a similar stress pattern on the block that it experiences with the head on. Some builders even go as far as putting an old head gasket between the block and plate, then go through a standard Toyota pattern for torquing down the bolts. This is a precision machined torque plate, manufactured out of 1.0" (25.4mm) thick 6082 aluminium (Waterjet cut for great accuracy). Aluminium is chosen as it best replicates stress and strain coefficients of expansion during torquing that the factory aluminium head does. Also included are the 14 aluminium spaces as shown in the pictures, require to torque this plate down on to the block. This torque plate has been designed with an overbore (88.0mm) that will allow for the largest hone/bore possible, so if you are building a stock bore or big bore, it isn't an issue. The bolt through-holes are clearance for 1/2" (.500") head studs, which allows you the flexibility to run a factory diameter or upgraded 1/2" diameter head studs, all according to the factory head stud location.
