Seized slider pins uk brakes

This can be a truly awful job. Have they flared at the end where youve been trying to tap them out? Make aure you only use a correct sized punch.

If you havent already knackered them, heating the pins up can help. Cutting the pins in the middle can also help if theyre still being stubborn. Worst case scenario they will need drilling out, which really needs a steady bench/ press drill.

I don’t think they have flared yet. Looks like I will have to remove the calipers completely then. Was thinking about cutting them in half then trying to remove each part. Problem is my Dremel is in my dads garage and the only thing I have at my flat is cold chisels

Definitely remove them from the car, its not difficult. Maybe have a word with Keron and see if he can do it for you if you're struggling (Sure he'll have had to do this before), hes not too far from you.

I have a few UK calipers gone to be weighed in as someone has broken the casting getting the old pins out. I have a jig that bolts to the milling machine bed. It holds the caliper 100% true and rigid so I can drill the old pins out after using a centre drill on the end of the damage inflicted with hammers and assorted brute force attacks. DO NOT try drilling them free hand, it will almost certainly end in disaster!! If you send me the calipers I can sort them properly.
