Bobbeh
Just wondering what's 'sportier' about filtering oil? Is it supposed to work better at higher temps or thicker oil?
Tricky-Ricky
More than likely made on the same production line as many other filters...just gets a different name.

Samurai 20V
I bought a whole bunch while in Japan cos I got them cheaper than OEM. The internals are different from the OEM, but whether they make any difference, I have no idea.

Ric
If anything i'd use a K&N Pro one. simply because they have the socket head on the end of it, easier to remove and tighten. Probably the same filter inside.

evinX
I use Blueprints or the black k&n ones. Can be had for less than a fiver. The white k&n ones are pointless with that useless spanner thingy. Id recommend blue prints for the price they are very high quality. Higher than k&n.
TrickTT
I have always used TRD personally, but I absolutely would not use k&n, there have been many stories of them splitting around the hex and leaking oil on the bike forums.
Frank Bullitt
Fit the larger V8 filter Toyota sell, it’s only a couple of £’s more than the OEM Supra.
jza800
It seems like sone of the post went outtrack.. it seems to be a lot of different answer, that dont help me much.. i just see this thread on another forum, and it seems very strange if this would be the brand on the oil filter.. i now it is a 1jz, but how is that possible?? http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/topic/78789-1jz-oil-pressure-oils/

Frank Bullitt
That’s what we call Toyota. Ignore Al, he is a known wind up merchant. Go on to Google and look for MR T’s website, they are all listed with their respective specs. Next he will be telling you Hulk Hogan didn’t own a DJG Supra. Mika
The old version of the Oem Toyota/Lexus V8 (Japan made one, not the new ones which are from China) oil filter uses similar kind of filter element inside of the metal core than the TRD 90915-SP020 filter uses. New Oem Toyota Supra oil filter has different, like normal paper element inside. Please take a look of these MKIV.com articles. Toyota oil filters – Toyota 90915-20004 vs. Toyota 08922-02011 vs. Mobil1: http://mkiv.com/techarticles/parts/toyota_filter/index.html TRD oil filters – TRD USA vs. TRD Japan Oil Filters: http://mkiv.com/techarticles/parts/toyota_filter/trd_filters/index.html I know these articles are old but I hoared the original Japan made 90915-20004 filters while these were available and also some TRD 90915-SP020 filters as these two has quite similar style filter elements inside.
