Weird Supra builds

A friend of mine runs a 285bhp diesel-engined mk2 Golf GTI which has changed my mind in recent years of fast diesels, so I love the idea of the Cummins conversion, especially as the car was being broke anyways.

It's good to see that Supra getting another chance at a life it might not have otherwise had.

Really liking the Cummins diesel build, been following it for a while now. It's certainly very different and is making use of a shell that may well have been scrapped.

As for the build with the Soarer dash in it, it's not my cup of tea really, I do really like the digital dash in the Soarer, but for me it just looks odd in the Supra.

Totally agree with that. The big wheel build is so different there's a total novelty to it. I think it really suits the car.

Cummins engine is really heavy, according to http://www.cumminshub.com/12v.html it is 1100lbs dry weight for engine alone and 2jzgte is about 600lbs with V160 (info from supraforums). Front suspension will have some hard times with that extra load

IMO adding that much extra weight is dangerous, the mounting points, subframes, bolts, suspension etc were not designed to cooe with that.

Any insurance company worth their salt would be insisting on a report from a qualified engineer before insuring it for road use.
