Dnk
So i'm reading on https://www.gov.uk/scrapped-and-written-off-vehicles/insurance-writeoffs Yet it would appear you can fix a cat B and put it back on the road, Adrian Flux say than can look into insuring you as many other brokers ins comps wont Is this actually for real ? Kammy
As far as im aware cat be chassis cannot come back on the road. Only parts can be salvaged.

add heywood
Maybe they mean to insure it from theft rather than from driving...?
Al Massey
However if the vehicle is of significant value & either financial or sentimental, then you may think it is worth repairing to make it road worthy once more. blythmrk
A mate of mine had a m3 a few years ago that was cat b with log book taxed and tested although he was driving on a traders policy. He bought it very cheaply (he said he could have doubled his money by selling as parts) he said it was legal but if a total loss or stolen the insurers would not pay out on it but was legal to drive. I think he sold it around a year later at a nice profit! As a rule cat b is parts only but a few probably slip through the net and return to the road my old caddy van was flood damaged and was cat b but Vw said it would go again so not all are bent like bananas! As a rule insurers will not insure cat b/c or d although it is them who cat them in the first place!
navtrd
There was a bmw m4 on ebay cat b repaired and up for sale the seller was stating he had a written formal letter that it can be put on the road but I'm sure it's breaker only.
