Sequential turbo issue

Recommended Posts

Before taking apart my engine for a rebuild, my standard sequential turbo system had an issue,

As the second turbo was about to come in, it would hesitate/flutter then come in. Would still pull hard once it had come in.

Tested all vsvs tonight, they are all ok.

No split pipes what I can see.

Just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas before to freshly built motor goes back in??

It was also running a greddy boost controller. Have not tested that solonoid though.

Any ideas/help would be great.

Test everything!;-) should have tested the kit in ttc before removal, know you tested the vsv’s but then you would also have checked the solenoid on the ebc.. but should have would have could have;-)

My guess would be on the EGCV actuator or butterfly. Test with a vacuum tester that it opens and closes easy and to the correct spec. I’ll see if I can’t find the chart with all the numbers...

Thanks for the advise....

I'll check the egcv operation later. That's a handy diagram.

The IACV vsv is operating as it should atm....but it was intermittant. Also it was strange how it was kind of like fluctuating before it came in, and vsvs are either on or off.

May be worth replacing anyway if I can actually find some!
